York County

York County is located in the South Central Region of Pennsylvania. With a population of over 430,000, York County offers its residents all of the big-city amenities while preserving its small-town charm.

The principal development area in the County encompasses the City of York and adjacent municipalities and accounts for nearly half of the population. An equally dynamic, but smaller development area, is centered around the Borough of Hanover.

With unemployment rates historically lower than the State and National average, York County residents enjoy great schools and institutions of higher education, a low cost of living and affordable health care.  Some of the major companies that call York home include: Harley-Davidson, York Barbell, Voith Hydro, Johnson Controls, Utz Quality Foods, Snyder’s-Lance, Inc. and BAE Systems.

In addition to its very own independent league baseball team, the York Revolution, York County is also home to a vibrant and growing liberal and performing arts community, beautiful parks and recreation areas and bountiful entertainment venues and activities, making York County the ideal place to live, work and play.
