Codorus Corridor: River of Opportunity
River of Opportunity: A Comprehensive Land Use Study and Economic Development Plan for the Codorus Corridor was completed in 2006. The Codorus Corridor Plan follows the Codorus Creek across six municipalities and examines the collective impact of redevelopment projects in the corridor in a broader context to look for physical and economic connections between projects. The York County Economic Alliance is currently updating the plan.
York County Industrial Development Authority (YCIDA)
The York County Industrial Development Authority, appointed by the York County Commissioners, champions redevelopment projects within the county. Projects of note include the creation of four industrial parks, PeoplesBank Park, Harley-Davidson West Campus, Marketview Arts and The Yorktowne Hotel.
Redevelopment Financing Programs
The York County Economic Alliance provides staff support for multiple entities that serve as conduits for several state and federal funding programs. Redevelopment funding programs include the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) and Tax Increment Financing (TIF) among others.
The York County Economic Development Plan identified infill and redevelopment in small downtowns as a key strategy for economic development in York County. The York County Economic Alliance assists municipalities with their redevelopment projects through the Municipal Outreach Program.
