Century Engineering, Inc. Acquires Dugan Associates

Hunt Valley, Maryland – April 19, 2013 – Century Engineering, Inc. recently acquired Dugan Associates of Frostburg, Maryland. Owned by Robert Dugan, the firm, engaged in the environmental and operational permitting of open pit mines and other industrial land-use sites in Maryland and West Virginia.  Services rendered included site design, sediment control and storm water design, survey of excavated areas, stockpiles and volumes of product, groundwater testing and reporting, design of reclamation areas, re-forestation, and other structural and environmental engineering.

“Dugan has an outstanding reputation in this business sector and has long established relationships with mine operators in Maryland and West Virginia,” notes Francis Smyth, Chief Executive of Century Engineering. The combined efforts of Bob Dugan and Aaron Teets (of Century’s Oakland, Maryland Office) will continue to expand these existing relationships and hope to grow services into the western Pennsylvania area as well. Per Smyth, “Century Engineering is excited to expand our energy services and mining markets, and to include Bob Dugan’s expertise on our team.”
