Education:

Vision: Students are successful in school because they receive a premier education.

Teaching children so they are well-prepared for life and work is the key to their future and the future of our community. The Foundation seeks to significantly improve the delivery of public education to students. 

Downtown Revitalization:

Vision: York County’s cities and boroughs are economically and culturally vibrant places to live, work, and play.

Our older communities offer beautiful architecture, unique retail, and engaging history. The Foundation seeks to strengthen York County’s cities and boroughs by supporting projects that attract residents, businesses, and visitors.

Nonprofit Strategic Alliances:

Vision: York County nonprofits and municipalities maximize their impact through powerful collaborations and alliances. 

All nonprofits should be collaborating with others to achieve their mission. The Foundation seeks to support organizations that are moving beyond collaboration and actually consolidate services, combine locations, or merge to improve service-delivery, increase efficiency, and be sustainable.

There are two types of grants being considered:

1. Strategic Community Grants: Projects or programs that will make progress in one of the Foundation’s focus areas listed above anywhere in York County. Maximum grant amount is $5000. Applications must be submitted via the Foundation’s website (www.yccf.org) by Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 5 p.m. Final decisions will be made at the end of September.
   
   
2. Partnership Grants: Strategic initiatives that make progress in one of the Foundation’s focus areas listed above; however, the focus of the education and downtown revitalization grants will be in the City of York. The Foundation is looking for high-impact projects that will result in lasting improvements. These larger grants will be considered partnership grants. There is no deadline to apply but all potential applicants for Partnership Grants must contact Jane Conover, Vice President of Community Investment (jconover@yccf.org) to discuss the proposal prior to submitting an application. At this stage of the discussion, be prepared to submit a one-page project description including an outline of funding needed for the project. If determined to be a fit with the Foundation’s priorities, organizations will be invited to submit a full grant proposal for consideration by the Foundation’s Grant Distribution Committee and Board of Directors.
