YorKitchen is a modern, fully licensed, shared commercial kitchen incubator available for rent by the hour to food producers and for nutrition educational training. YorKitchen sits in the middle of a produce and food hub and houses a wide variety of commercial equipment, work tables and necessities needed to help small businesses succeed and grow.
Legislation known as the “Purely Public Charities” legislation, Senate Bill 4, would grant the General Assembly the ability to “establish uniform standards and qualifications which shall be the criteria to determine qualification as institutions of purely public charity”. Currently, in Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court has the sole authority to define a “purely public charity” and the General Assembly has the authority to set standards for tax-exempt status.
With the recent funding of projects early in 2015, YCEA’s total SBA 504 closed loan balance with EDC Finance Corporation has eclipsed the $5 million mark. In 2014, several key projects received SBA 504 approval including Wyndridge Farms, Star Light Diner and Centurion Construction, as YCEA continues to ramp up promotion of this valuable financing option for small businesses.
