ALLIANCEfuel Committees

The ALLIANCEfuel Committees consist of four groups: Steering, Networking, Education and Marketing. The Committees plan various events throughout the year focused on connecting the next generation of young professionals.
 
Ambassadors

Ambassadors encourage new members to get involved through participation. They are the Alliance’s “Meeters and Greeters” at events and are the backbone of volunteers within the Economic Alliance.
 
Annual Dinner Committee

Chair: Loren H. Kroh, Corvus, LLC
The Annual Dinner Committee meets four to five times a year to plan the Annual Dinner scheduled in early April 2013. Meetings are held in the morning and are approximately one hour in length. Responsibilities of the committee include: entertainment, invitation and program design, theme, decorations, meal selection and marketing ideas.

 

Business Advocacy Council

The Business Advocacy Council acts as a business advocate and serves as a liaison between Alliance members and elected officials on the local, state and federal levels. The Council meets once a month to review government issues affecting York County businesses and taking a position when appropriate. Members receive the monthly WATCHdog.

 

International Business & Workforce Expo Committee

The Expo Committee meets 9-10 times per year and serves as an advisory source for staff in the planning and execution of the International Business & Workforce Expo. The Committee is involved in day-of-event activities. The Expo is held in early May and consists of Networking Night and a full-day exhibition.

 

DrawDown & Silent Auction Committee

Chair: Scott Rogers, The Glatfelter Agency, Inc.
This committee meets three or four times a year prior to the DrawDown which takes place in November. Committee members determine the event format and ticket price, provide ideas for marketing, contact members for donation of silent auction items, and assist at the event.

 

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee reviews the Economic Alliance financial statements and investment performances quarterly. The Committee also finalizes the annual budget and presents it to the Board for approval.

 

Golf Outing Committee

Chair: Jim Singleton, The Glatfelter Agency, Inc.
The Committee is involved in planning the golf outing format, contests within the tournament, prizes, food and beverage selection. Committee members are also encouraged to work the event as well as seek other Economic Alliance members to become sponsors or donate prizes.

 

Governance Committee

The Governance Committee consists of Alliance officers and board members as designated and oversees all operations, programs and events.

 

Human Resources Committee

The Human Resources Committee oversees internal organization human resource decisions and is made up of Board members and volunteers.

 

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee reviews the marketing strategy for the organization with the goal of increasing awareness and support for the organization. The Committee also serves as an advisory source of professional marketing expertise for proactive external marketing efforts for county-wide business retention and attraction activities.
 
Membership Committee

The Membership Committee meets monthly and focuses on sales and marketing, and identifying ways to add member value and grow the Economic Alliance.

 

Small Business Seminar Series Committee

Chair: Cheryl Nusbaum, Tastefully Simple Independent Consultant
The SBSS Committee plans Breakfast Plus and Lunch Plus meetings, and facilitates the Small Business of the Year Award nominations and recipient selection. The Series provides resources to educate small business members through informative seminars covering issues that affect small businesses in York County.


York County Workforce Advisory Committee

The Workforce Advisory Committee engages employers, educators and community partners to create a life-long learning environment that will attract and retain strong businesses and a diverse, talented workforce critical for sustaining a vibrant community and a growing, innovative economy.

 

Entities

Entrepreneurial Support Alliance (ESA)

ESA is a collaboration of the key entrepreneurial support providers in York County. The mission of ESA is to synergistically mobilize the diverse resources of member organizations to support start-up and existing businesses in the communities that we serve.
 
General Authority of South Central Pennsylvania (GASP)

Chair: Terrence Hormel, Penn Town Properties
GASP serves as a municipal financing authority for economic development and non-profit projects in South Central Pennsylvania. GASP is authorized to issue bonds for eligible tax-exempt and taxable projects. Board members are appointed by the County Commissioners.
 
Investors Circle of York (ICY)

The mission of ICY is to create a source of financial capital to help facilitate entrepreneurship, new business development and growth in the region, and bring together entrepreneurs and prospective investors.
 
NutriCore NorthEast (NCNE)

NutriCore is a 501(c)3 whose mission is dedicated to food and nutrition research. In 2011, NutriCore developed the Shared Kitchen Incubator of York (YorKitchen).
 
Partnership for Economic Development of York County (PEDYC)

Chair: Darrell W. Auterson, York County Economic Alliance
PEDYC is a 501(c)3 that serves to stimulate interest in and to assist in the promotion of plans that promote the industrial and economic development of York County. Projects include economic development initiatives such as the Creativity Unleashed branding campaign, fiscal sponsorship program and the Municipal Outreach Program.
 
Redevelopment Authority of the County of York (RACY)

Chair: Austin Hunt, Three M Tool & Die Corp.
RACY works redevelop blighted industrial sites and to forge innovative strategies for redevelopment projects throughout York County. Projects include Keystone Weaving Mills and Hanover Shoe. Board members are appointed by the County Commissioners.
 
Small Enterprise Development Company (SEDCO)

SEDCO offers small business support through administering the Commonwealth’s small business loan programs including Small Business First, First Industries – Agriculture and First Industries – Tourism.
 
York County Alliance for Learning (YCAL)

YCAL works with businesses and schools to provide career education, relevant academic and work based experiences for students and educators in York County.
 
York County Bankers’ Consortium (YCBC)

The Consortium was created to streamline the introduction process for small York County businesses and businesses new to York County to establish relationships with financial institutions who are members of the Economic Alliance.
 
York County Hospital Authority (YCHA)

Chair: Terrence Hormel, Penn Town Properties
YCHA finances public or non-profit hospitals and hospital facilities. Board members are appointed by the County Commissioners.
 
York County Industrial Development Authority (YCIDA)

Chair: Jack Kay, Susquehanna Real Estate
The YCIDA invests in local industrial parks and projects throughout York County that facilitate job creation.  Projects of note include creation of three industrial parks, development and ownership of Sovereign Bank Stadium, redevelopment and creation of Marketview Arts and redevelopment of the Harley-Davidson West Campus. Board members are appointed by the County Commissioners.
 
York Keystone Innovation Zone (KIZ)

The York KIZ is one of 29 zones throughout the state designated by the Department of Community and Economic Development to foster innovation and create entrepreneurial opportunities.
